Give Me A Few Words . . .
Marshall McLuhan has written somewhere that the various forms of technology are nothing more than extensions of the human body: the wheel – of the foot, the lever – of the arm, the music instruments – of the phonetic system. So what happens when means of recording and storage come into the picture? Most of them, developed for military purposes, transform in the hands of artists in a usage that goes against their original purpose, transgressing the monumentality and the corporeality, the objectivity of the most humane expressive medium – the voice. Electroacoustic concert with works by John Cage, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Luciano Berio, Henri Chopin, Kurt Schwitters, Guy Debord, Gerhard Ruehm, Allen Ginsberg, Steve Reich, Joan LaBarbara, Andreas Diktyopoulos and Demetrio Stratos.

DÉRIVE / piano recital / M. Aloupi
This Dérive is a journey to the universe of compositions and timbres for piano: from the deceiving immobility and the apparently intuitive structure of Feldman to the timbre radicalism of Sciarrino or the automated systems and the masterful brilliant virtuosity of Donatoni; from the search for a new “harmony” of the opposites and the dramaturgy of Koumendakis to the monism and post-structuralistic, scientific approach of sound itself by Murail, this project sheds light on one of the most enchanting aspects of contemporary musical creation.
